Data released by the Nigeria Electricity System Operator (NESO), a semi-autonomous unit of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), revealed the decline. Despite the recent billing review for Band A power consumers, findings by Vanguard suggest no improvement in the power value chain, attributed to insufficient gas supply to thermal stations and deteriorating transmission lines. Generation has averaged 4,200 megawatts since the beginning of the year, highlighting ongoing challenges in the sector.
