Paul Okoye Criticizes Eedris Abdulkareem for Consistent Insults Directed at Various Artists, Including Burna Boy
Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye otherwise known as Rudeboy has weighed in on the online spat between legendary rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem and Burna Boy.
Taking to his Instagram story, he slammed Eedris Abdulkareem for always picking fights with his colleagues. He noted how Eedris has insulted and fought with 2baba, Psquare, Timaya, and D’banj, and now his latest target is Burna Boy.
Paul stated every day Eedris Abdulkareem always talks about fighting for the industry which leaves him laughing as he remembers how 20 years ago, Nigerian artists agreed with one voice about payment conditions and treatment on American rapper, 50cent show, yet Eedris Abdulkareem went behind their back and collected peanut.
He stated that he had kept silent all these while about what transpired.
“Every Eke market day we go dey hear “I fought for the industry” na me cook dey food wey una dey chop” I go just dey laugh.
Now you want reply with music, you go reply taya.
Over 20 years I have kept silent about what really transpired, how the top Nigerian artists as of then agreed with one voice, about payment conditions and treatments on the same 50-cent show. Only for this greedy guy to go behind and collected peanut. You dey expect VIP treatment on top peanut payment?
You keep insulting any artiste at every opportunity, if is not Tuface, is Psquare, Timaya, D’banj, now na Burna. You go explain taya”.
We reported that Eedris had spoken out about the music industry and Burna Boy, in an excerpt from an unpublished edition of the famous podcast The Honest Bunch.
The singer had slammed Burna Boy over a statement he made years back, claiming that none of his senior colleagues had prepared him for success.
According to Burna, no one in the Nigerian music business has ever done anything for him since musicians were too busy doing things for themselves or criticizing others’ achievements.
Replying him, Eedris described his statement as a stup!d talk and Burna Boy had slammed him, stating that he blamed the people who donated money for his hospital bills last year, as he added that he wished the singer was someone who could enter the kind of places, he enters so they can meet.
Not done with him, Eedris had written an essay to him, calling him out for wishing him dead. expressed how saddened and disappointing it is, as he slammed the Grammy winner for making fun of his health crisis.
Also weighing into their drama, Jaywon had stated that Eedris made a lot of contributions to the industry which he wasn’t applauded for because of his arrogance. He stated that he sees the same in Burna Boy as he noted how what goes around comes around.
He added that at the end of the day, everyone would collect and it’s just time.
This isn’t the first time, Eedris has attacked Burna Boy. In 2020, Eedris slammed Burna Boy as he praised Davido as the real Odogwu of his generation of singers.
This came after Burna Boy and Davido clashed online following an interview Davido did saying he and Wizkid are Nigeria’s greatest of all time.
Burna Boy felt sidelined from the equation which forced him to shade Davido, reminding him that he only succeeded musically because his billionaire father bought it all for him.
Eedris Abdulkareem had joined the frenzy by stripping Burna Boy off the Odogwu title and pasting it on Davido.
