Parents of OnlyFans Model Arrested for Alleged Tampering with Evidence in Nigerian Boyfriend’s Murder Case in the U.S.
The parents of Courtney Clemney, the OnlyFans model implicated in the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, in 2022, were apprehended in Austin, Texas. According to recent warrants, authorities alleged that they accessed the boyfriend’s laptop after the incident. CBS News indicates that Kim and Deborah Clemney were arrested at 2:34 p.m. by the Travis County Sheriff’s Office on out-of-state felony charges and are currently being detained without bond for another agency.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Kim Dewayne Clenney, aged 60, Deborah Lyn Clenney, aged 57, and Courtney, now 27, are each charged with one count of unauthorized access of a computer, computer system, or electronic device belonging to Christian Obumseli.
Clenney claims she stabbed Christian Obumseli in self-defense at their Miami apartment in 2022. However, TMZ reported on Tuesday that the arrests of the social media influencer’s parents are related to a laptop belonging to Obumseli that was left at the shared apartment and later recovered by the father. According to the new warrants, many of Obumseli’s belongings were taken from the condo after his death. Authorities investigating his killing sought access to Courtney Clenney’s cellphone, as well as her iCloud account and the iCloud accounts of her parents, according to the warrants.
Search warrants for the iCloud accounts were obtained, and Apple complied, granting investigators access to messages, including a group chat between Courtney Clenney’s attorneys and her parents. The chat included discussions about Christian Obumseli’s laptop and strategies to access it, including references to attempting guessed passwords, as stated in the warrant.
