Osun State monarch escapes attempt on life
An Osun monarch, the Alamo of Ayegbaju Ijesa, Oba Abideen Adeyemi, narrowly escaped an attempt on his life in Ilesa, Osun State, on Saturday.
A source disclosed to Kemi Filani News that yet-to-be-identified gunmen opened fire on Oba Adeyemi and his driver in Ilesa town.
The Alamo, who celebrated his 18th coronation anniversary at the ancient town on Saturday, was reportedly ambushed by an assailant shortly after bullets hit the event alongside his driver.
The source also disclosed that the monarch, Oba Adeyemi and his driver were rescued after the incident and rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
Reacting to the development, the Osun Police Command, Police Public Relations Officer Yemisi Opalola, said police have begun investigating the incident.
Opalola added that the culprit will be brought to book.
