Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has announced significant strides in combating corruption within his first 100 days in office. Under his leadership, the anti-graft agency has received over 5,000 fraud petitions and successfully recovered N60 billion in looted funds. Out of the total petitions, Olukoyede revealed that the EFCC has approved 3,000 for investigation, signaling a proactive approach in addressing financial crimes. Appointed by President Bola Tinubu on October 12, 2023, Olukoyede succeeded Abdurasheed Bawa, who was suspended and removed from office by Tinubu’s administration.
