Jigawa NLC Declines Government’s N10,000 Wage Award
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) chapter in Jigawa State has declined the N10,000 wage award proposed by the state government as a palliative measure for the removal of fuel subsidy. The decision was announced in a press statement released following a meeting of the organized labour held in Dutse on Tuesday.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the proposed wage award, the NLC chapter emphasized the need for a more substantial and equitable solution to address the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on workers’ livelihoods. The rejection underscores the labor union’s commitment to advocating for fair wages and ensuring the welfare of workers in Jigawa State.”
