Residents of Katapka community, Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, are on edge after reports emerged of the purported killing of three Nigerian Army personnel and two vigilantes by bandits. The incident occurred during an invasion of the LGA on Tuesday, escalating tension in the area.
Earlier this month, unidentified gunmen had unleashed violence, resulting in the death of three individuals and extensive property damage in Katapka and Okudu communities. Subsequently, the Nigerian Army deployed personnel to restore peace and order.
Despite efforts to stabilize the situation, the bandits launched an ambush on the military personnel on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the tragic loss of three soldiers and two vigilantes.
