Electoral Act Amendment Bill Passes Second Reading in Legislature
The House of Representatives has greenlit the Electoral Act Amendment Bill for its Second Reading, marking a significant step forward in legislative proceedings. Titled “A Bill for an Act to amend the Electoral Act, 2022 and for Related Matters,” the bill was introduced by Mr. Francis Waive, representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency in Delta State.
During the presentation of the bill, Waive highlighted the deficiencies in the Electoral Act of 2022 and emphasized the importance of amending the law to facilitate the electronic transmission of results.
