Blackface Accuses Shallipopi of Intellectual Property Theft Over Song Sample

Description: Nigerian singer Augustine Obiabo Amedu, widely known as Blackface, alleges that his colleague Shallipopi used a sample from his song ‘Enemy Plan’ in the latter’s debut album ‘Shakepopi’ without permission. Blackface questions whether Nigerian artists can’t create music without borrowing his sound or melody, urging them to abandon such practices. Shallipopi is yet to respond to the accusation.
