Boston Proclaims March 2nd as ‘Burna Boy Day

 

The city of Boston in Massachusetts, United States, has officially designated March 2nd as “Burna Boy’s Day” in recognition of the Nigerian singer’s contributions to music and advocacy. This proclamation was made through a document signed by Councillor Ruthzee Louijeune of the Boston City Council.

According to the document, Burna Boy was honored for his outstanding performances and impactful advocacy efforts. It highlights Boston’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity through various events and initiatives that showcase the city’s multicultural landscape.

The document states, “Burna Boy’s legacy serves as a reminder of possibility, urging us to continue amplifying voices that have long been silenced or overlooked.” As a result, March 2, 2024, has been officially designated as Burna Boy Day in the City of Boston.

Burna Boy’s popularity in Boston has been evident through numerous sold-out shows since he gained international recognition in 2018.”
