Touts and Drug Hawkers Assault NAFDAC Officials in Abuja

The Investigation and Enforcement Directorate of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), accompanied by mobile police, faced aggression on Monday from irate drug hawkers and touts in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The agency’s enforcement team was conducting a raid on fake, unregistered, and counterfeit drugs at the Area One motor park when the attack occurred. As the operation unfolded, hawkers and touts at the park hurled stones and other hazardous objects at the team and journalists present.
