Tragic News: Access Bank CEO Wigwe, Alongside Wife and Son, Perish in Helicopter Crash in California”
Access Bank CEO Roosevelt Herbert Wigwe, along with his wife, son, and three others, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in California. The incident occurred on Friday night near Nipton, California, with six individuals on board, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. As of Saturday morning, no survivors had been located, as confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in a statement.
“We were notified of a downed aircraft at around 10:12 p.m. on February 10, 2024. The crash site was located east of the 15-Freeway, near Halloran Springs Road,” stated the sheriff’s department. The FAA later confirmed that the helicopter involved was a Eurocopter EC 130.
The tragic incident marked the second crash within a single day in the United States. Earlier on Friday afternoon, at least two individuals lost their lives when a small plane, experiencing engine failure, collided with a vehicle on a Florida interstate during an emergency landing attempt. Additionally, earlier in the week, five U.S. Marines perished following the crash of a military helicopter in the mountains near San Diego.
