Bandit Attack Claims Lives of Three Soldiers and Two Civilians in Nasarawa

Katapka community in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State is reeling with fear following reports of a deadly attack by bandits. The assailants allegedly killed three soldiers and two members of a vigilante group during the invasion on Tuesday.

The community had already been on edge after unidentified gunmen perpetrated a similar attack on February 1, 2024, claiming three lives and causing extensive property damage in Katapka and Okudu areas. In response, the Nigerian Army deployed personnel to the region to restore peace and order.

However, despite the military presence, the bandits launched another assault on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the tragic loss of three soldiers and two vigilantes. Abdullahi Aliyu-Tashas, the Chairman of Toto Local Government Area, expressed sadness over the incident during a telephone conversation with our correspondent in Lafia on Wednesday.”
