Four Arrested Including Church’s Financial Secretary for Allegedly Abducting Two Catholic Priests in Plateau State

“Four Arrested for Alleged Kidnapping of Two Catholic Priests in Plateau State

Four individuals have reportedly been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of two Catholic Priests at the Saint Vincent de Paul Fier in Kwande, Shendam Diocese of Plateau State. Frs. Kenneth Kanwa and Jude Nwachukwu were abducted by unknown gunmen who raided the parish on Thursday, February 1.

Confirming the abduction, parish priest of St. John Mary Vianney, Kwande, Shendam Diocese, Fr. Cornelius Weke, issued a statement on Sunday, January 4, urging Catholics to pray for the release of the priests. However, in a surprising turn of events, it has emerged that four individuals, allegedly including members of the church, have been apprehended in connection with the abduction. The gang purportedly includes the Church’s financial secretary.”
